Hello world,
Unfortunately due to spending my precious weekend on a school mentoring camp (how glam) and having exams over this week and the next I’m having to take a wee break from blogging. I do have a few posts scheduled over the next week or so which should keep the blog going for awhile. Stay radical.
It’s starting to get pretty cold here in Auckland but I’m trying to make the most of the last few remnants of warm weather by sporting bare legs and wrapping up warm in a coat.
These are my favourite looks from last weeks Met Gala and bare in mind that the theme was punk. Being born just 15 years ago I don’t really feel qualified to comment on the true meaning of ‘punk’ but I think the real winner goes to Abbey Lee Kershaw. Lifting up her Rag & Bone dress to reveal GUN CONTROL scrawled across her flat stomach. Now that was pretty punk. Sure it may have been premeditated and timed just perfectly but it was a winning move nevertheless. On another note I miss Abbey Lee, I haven’t seen her much recently, I’ve heard she’s acting? I think it’s time for her come back. Not really sure if she ever left. Oh but Rooney Mara, her dress was incredible, I’m in love.

Dakota Fanning / Rodarte, Miranda Kerr / Michael Kors, Liu Wen / Alexander McQueen, Chloe Sevigny / Proenza Schouler
Nicole Richie / Topshop Couture, Rooney Mara / Givenchy Haute Couture, Abbey Lee Kershaw / Rag & Bone
Jessica Hart / Azzedine Alaia, Allison Williams / Altuzarra, Joan Smalls / Tom Ford
I posted about Lorde back in February after listening to her for the majority of my Summer and last night I was lucky enough to see her live at Galatos. The word that comes to mind is majestic. If you still haven’t listened to her stuff then I’m really not sure where you’ve been the past couple of months and you totally should. You should also check out her facebook page while you’re at it.
Boycrush opened for her and they were pretty rad. I also really appreciated their matching RUBY shirts which looked really cute. Check out their soundcloud here.
I had high expectations which were more than matched. Singing four of her songs on her current EP plus 5 insane new ones, she absolutely killed it. When she walked on I was literally shaking and then I started thinking about how weird that was because she is practically my age, and she probably lives about 15 minutes away from me. Bloody hell if I went to Takapuna Grammar we might even be friends (but maybe thats flattering myself) and here I was shaking with excitement. Weird I know.
She has this crazy stage presence, her voice is out of this world (but you already knew that) and its even better live plus she’s so natural and fluid on stage. I tried to tell myself before I arrived ‘don’t watch the concert through the screen of your iphone’ but I couldn’t stop myself from recording almost all of the songs until my phone ran out of space. (16 gb problems). I would be lying if I said I hadn’t been listening to them over and over all day. And yes I do start questioning life when 400 lux – potentially my favourite of them all cuts out after 1:01. So you can probably understand when I say I can’t wait until her new songs are released.

Boycrush opening for Lorde and looking v cute in matching RUBY shirts.
I’m in love with this editorial. It’s just so me. If you’ve read my about page you’ll know where the name Rosa & Fox came from. (Fox is the alter ego of Rosa – Rosa is more feminine whilst Fox is more edgy and the teeniest tiniest bit grunge) – I hate that word grunge but there’s really no other way of putting it. I think this editorial just completely portrays that idea. Above with the light pink coat over a cropped tee and denim and further down with the dungarees and a simple bow in her hair. In the second to last picture with the printed skirt, the split just gives it that much more edge. It’s perfect.
I’m also v jealous of the model Nele Kenzler’s hair. It’s like my goal hair. If only the ends would stop splitting. It really causes great heartbreak when one bravely chops inches off of their hair to make it nice and healthy only to find that somehow the ends still manage to split. I digress but seriously this editorial.. perfect.

In the streets with a heater under my dungarees / dreams of me getting shaded under a money tree
It’s Monday. It’s back to school (and exams) for the next 10 weeks or so. It’s rainy and cold. But it’s ok because I have my dungarees. Stressed, depressed but well dressed is the motto am I right ladies?
P.S. I instagrammed this look a while ago and linked it to twitter as well and ASOS tweeted me saying ‘@rosashand…winning combo’ I think… I’ve made it. I should probably just drop out of school now to pursue a career in being.. in being.. a professional blogger? Stylist? Online Shopper? Kardashian?
